Nickola is 5 going on 16

She has been obsessed with her chest. She calls them her moles and wants to know when she will get her moles. Today while at Kohls buying her shoes she was talking to the lady behind us about her granddaughter and the lady said she is turning 6. I told Nic that she will be 6 on her next birthday which she proudly stated, "Yeah and then I'll have boobies". The young male cashier practically busted a gut laughing.
Then on the way home I asked why she told her preschool teacher that chocolate makes her heart feel warm. She explained that the heart on her left loves chocolate but the heart on her right (as she is pointing to each side) hates it. "Wow" I said, "How did you get 2 hearts?" She calmly replied, " Because one was lonely so it got another one."

What a great husband

Last night was our monthly scrapbook class. We haven't had it since Nov and I was looking forward to it all day. I had some scouts come over at 6:00 so they could cut out their derby cars with Darin so i got Nic in bed gathered my stuff and hopped in the car pool. No sooner did we get to Sheilas, Darin calls and says he might need stitches and is probably going to go to urgent care. He sliced his thumb on the band saw (which is a first for him, he rarely gets hurt by his tools). I asked him if he wanted to come and get me (since I didn't have my car) but he just said no stay there he will find someone to come and stay with the kids (our 3 and 2 scouts). He said he looked in the mirror and made sure he wasn't pale or anything because he does not do well with blood!! Brandi was nice enough to call her husband and Chris came over and watched the kids (A big thanks to you for that Chris!). All the urgent cares were closed and so he just came home and bandaged it up and so far it seems okay. He was so sweet to be so tough and let me enjoy my scrapin' night. He just says it was a good learning experience for the boys not to cut toward your body.

I may need therapy

I love to vacuum. Dar bought me a vacuum one time for mothers day (which alot of women may frown upon) but I loved it. It is like a guy getting a new tool. Last year I got a killer deal on a Dyson. I spotted just one on clearance at Home Depot and sent my kids to guard it until I could get there and get a closer look. It is one of my favorite things, all the attachments, the suction, the ease of motion (are you salivating yet).
Yesterday I realized I may have an obsession. I glanced over at my neighbor in Relief Society and noticed the "chapel cleaning signup" and instantly my thoughts turned to bringing the Dyson and cleaning all the pews and song book holders and I got giddy. I had to keep trying to focus on the lesson.
Needless to say I can't wait to tackle the chapel on Sat!!

New years

When we finally got home to warm ole Mesa we were able to show everyone the fun of the desert. We took the quads out and shot off rockets with the Skabelunds and everyone brought their guns and we all went shooting. My sister loving refers to it as the redneck christmas. It was a great time. I think they shot off around 1900 bullets. That is a lot of ammo. I forgot my camera but you can see some fun pics on my sisters blog (Jade and Tom). We got to have 11 of the 20 grandkids staying here while my siblings stayed in a hotel (how did that happen?) just kidding we loved having them here. Nickola thought everyday was a big sleepover!! We miss everyone already!!

Have a laugh on us.

This year we talked all of my family into coming down to AZ for our Christmas get together. For the first time in 16 years we didn't have to travel for the holidays it was kinda weird. Anyway we met everyone at the Grand Canyon and then we all came to Mesa later. The canyon got snow the whole time we were there and there really wasn't a view but we like the other tourist kept taking pics just to have some proof we were there. My kids loved eating the snow and chasing their baby cousin around. Oh well we got a good laugh and we will plan another trip in the spring. Thanks everyone for sharing a good time and laugh with us and we are glad everyone came.

The visitor center had some things to help entertain

Can you see some of it? My kids kept playing around the fence and we had to keep explaining that there is a big drop off if they fall..... I don't think they believed us.

Got to love the snow blowing in the eyes.

That is the Grand Canyon or at least what we saw!

Hole in the rock

Because we were glutton for punishment, Kim and I decided walking around the zoo wasn't enough so after we took the kids to hike the "Hole in the rock." My kids are monkeys and love to climb on anything..... All in all it was a great day.

The Zoo again!

I wonder what this milk taste like??

This is Zackery doing the white boy running man.

Kim and I decided to take the kids to the zoo again. We had a great time last time and the kids love hanging out together not to mention us moms. My kids love going to the zoo which explains why we take lots of people there and have had a membership for lots of years. Here are some fun crazy highlights.

I took lots of pictures like this as a young person.... since I collected flamingos we always had to take a pic in front of them no matter where we where and of course the leg has to be up. My kids always ask to see them for my sake.

This pic cracks me up. What an easy going child.

I couldn't resist posting this pic of Logan and Nic
The zoo just got a new Komodo dragon exhibit. It was pretty cool.
